Denis J. Coggin, 87, a resident of Shavertown for the past 28 years, died peacefully on Saturday, February 18, 2017. He and his wife, Renate Raffeck, celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary on September 20, 2016.
He was born in Detroit, Michigan, a son of the late Denis Edward and Renee Draper Coggin. He was a graduate of American International College in Massachusetts. Among his many accomplishments, Denis volunteered to serve our Country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He later moved on to the private sector and became an accomplished sales professional. He had an insatiable appetite for knowledge, loved reading and crossword puzzles and had a great sense of humor. He loved sitting alongside his wife in their backyard garden sanctuary sipping tea, watching the great variety of birds and admiring the flowers. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife, Denis is survived by his son, Justin Coggin, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Denis P. Coggin.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
