Samuel H. Browand, 80, of Pittston, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018 in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He and his wife, Susan Schreiner Browand, celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on February 1, 2018. .

Born in Wells Tannery, PA, the youngest of fourteen siblings, he was a son of the late Harry Spencer and Golda Harnish Browand. He was a graduate of West Side High School, Scranton and continued his education to become a certified transmission mechanic. Samuel was a U.S. Navy veteran. Prior to retirement, he had been employed by Chambersburg Transmission, for many years and later for Securitas Security, Dunmore.

Samuel was beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend, who was cherished by his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Samuel Browand; daughters, Deborah Perry, Carol Morris and husband, Dody and Suzanne English; five grandchildren, Theresa Glessner and husband, Michael,

David White and wife, Elissa, Rebecca Fraker and husband, Michael, Shawn English and Ryan English; nine great grandchildren, Tiffany White ,Ryan McLain, Callie White, Autumn White, Merriel Fraker, Star Fraker,

Morgan Fraker, Hunter Fraker, and Summer Fraker; sister, Elizabeth Horton, several nieces and nephews and his dogs, Mollie, Skeeter and Bambi.

He was preceded in death by his two grandsons, Justin White and Wesley Carbaugh; eight brothers and four sisters.

Funeral and interment will be private at the convenience of the family, as per Sam's wishes.
