Eleanor Jean Giamusso - Saturday, 3/12/2022
Eleanor Jean Giamusso, 69, of Pittston, passed away peacefully Friday, March 4, 2022, with her family by her side. Born in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Edward Rosiak, Sr. and Rose Marie Novak Rosiak. Jeannie loved growing up in the village of Port Griffith and will forever be known as the reigning May Park Queen. She was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, Class of 1970 and Luzerne Community College, where she earned her Associate's degree in Education. She was employed by the Old Forge School District. Jeannie was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was one to always lend a helping hand to those in need. Her house was the gathering place where she hosted many. Jeannie enjoyed experimenting with new food dishes to feed many people or to satisfy her rather large appetite. She loved to read which gave her a vast knowledge on just about anything. She could spend hours sharing stories with her family and friends on various topics. She adored her children and grandchildren. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Jeannie is survived by her loving and devoted children, Keri Lipperini and husband, Michael, Prince Frederick, MD; Ross Giamusso, III, Harding; Leah Kowalczyk and husband, Stanley, Bear Creek and Angelo Giamusso and wife, Randilee, Warrenton, VA; grandchildren, Michael and Anthony Lipperini, Courtney and Nicholas Giamusso, Dominick Kowalczyk and Amelia Rose Giamusso; great grandsons, Lorenzo Giamusso & Luka Adams; siblings, Thomas Rosiak and wife, Becky, Pittston; Mary Rose Rosiak, Wilkes-Barre; John Kevin Rosiak and wife, Maureen, Kingston; sister-in-law, Lisa Rosiak, Wilkes-Barre and nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews; many extended family and life-long friends. In addition to her parents, Jeannie was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward "Whitey" Rosiak, Jr. and Stephen Rosiak. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the vast number of medical professionals that provided love and compassionate care during her illness. A blessing service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 12:00 PM, in the Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main Street, Pittston (Port Griffith), with Fr. Brian J.W. Clarke, officiating. Interment will be at a later date in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Saturday from 10:00AM to 12:00PM, at the funeral home.

I'm so sorry for your loss, and also sorry I wasn't able to make it to the viewing due to the snowstorm. I've always thought so highly of Jeannie. She was such a warm and good-natured person. Even though we were 12 years apart, I've always felt a connection to her, and admired her when we were kids. She was always friendly and welcoming. I'll miss her.
