Jerome "Jerry" Dziak - Saturday, 10/11/2025

Jerome "Jerry" Dziak, 91, of Duryea, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025, in Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.

He was born in Pittston, a son of the late Joseph and Margaret Polacky Dziak. He was a graduate of Duryea High School, Class of 1952. Jerome was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Prior to retirement, he was employed by PP & L, Scranton.

Jerome was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church, Pittston, where he spent a lot of time volunteering at church dinners and flea markets. He was also a member of the Pittston Area Band Parents Assoc. and was known to many as the "candy man" when he worked the concession stand.

He is survived by his sister, Margaret Sharisky; his partner, Ricardo Olmedo; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews.

Jerome was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Dziak and sisters, Theresa Nawrocki and Mary Ann Dziak Zapko.

The funeral will be held at 10:15 AM on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main Street, Pittston (Port Griffith), Divine Liturgy with the Office of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church 205 N. Main Street, Pittston, Rev. Andrii Dumnych, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Duryea.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Friday from 5 to 8 P.M., at the funeral home. Panachida services will be at 5:00 P.M.
